Dry Eye Treatment
Dry eye is usually caused by poor tear quality rather than not enough tears — most commonly meibomian gland dysfunction, where the oil glands in the eyelids stop working properly. Treatment starts with an evaluation of the glands and tear film, then a plan that may include prescription drops, in-office gland treatment, and lid care.
Watery eyes are often dry eyes. So is intermittent blur that clears when you blink, and the gritty feeling that gets worse by the afternoon.
Over-the-counter drops treat the symptom for twenty minutes. We look at why the tear film is failing and treat that instead.
What’s included
