Children's Eye Exams
Children in Fairview and Allen should have a comprehensive eye exam by age 5, especially before they start school, and then every year through their school years. We begin seeing kids around age 4. A school vision screening is not an eye exam — it checks distance vision only and misses focusing, eye teaming, and eye health.
Growing Eyes is the pediatric side of Fairview Eyecare. A child will not report blurry vision, because they have nothing to compare it to. The first exam is the one that catches that.
We see kids from Fairview, Allen, Lucas, Lovejoy, McKinney, and Wylie. We keep the visit moving, we explain what we found to the parent in the room, and we book after school when we can.
