What retinal imaging shows at an eye exam in Allen, TX

Retinal imaging is a photograph of the back of the eye. At Fairview Eyecare in Allen it usually replaces dilation, and it is $19 right now. We recommend it for most patients because it shows the retina clearly and gives us a picture to compare next year.

Dilation still has a place. If we need a wider look, we will say so before we use the drops, and you should bring sunglasses. For many routine exams the image is enough.

The $19 rate is a welcome as the practice changes hands. It is optional, and we will tell you the cost before we take the photo. The reason we mention it is that we want patients to see what we see.
