Eye exams

How often adults should have an eye exam

Most adults should have a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years. People who wear contact lenses, have diabetes or glaucoma, or notice a changing prescription should be seen every year. After 55, yearly is the safer rhythm.

An exam at Fairview Eyecare is not only a glasses check. It looks at eye pressure, the retina, and changes tied to diabetes and blood pressure. Plan on about 45 minutes, longer if you are being fitted for contact lenses or glasses.

The office is at 1546 E Stacy Rd #100 in Allen, serving Fairview, Lucas, Lovejoy, and McKinney. You can schedule online, or text the office if you are not sure which kind of visit you need.
